The "Camera Disabled" error alert prevents you from capturing photos or videos within the app.
Sometimes, the camera can be disabled if you have no data connection initially. Try moving into an area with a strong connection until the alert disappears and the camera shutter is enabled. You may be able to return to the previous location after this point without seeing the error again.
If those steps did not correct the issue, please check the following:
- Ensure that you have mobile data enabled.
- Ensure that you can connect to a data service if you are roaming.
- Ensure you are running the latest version of the Vision Camera app on your device.
- Ensure your device is not modified, rooted, or jailbroken.
- If the error message is related to your location, ensure you are at the location given to the partner company that requested the inspection.
- Ensure that your phone is not in Developer Mode. If your phone is in this mode, see the directions below for how to turn it off.
Disable Developer Mode
Android
- Open your phone's settings by clicking on the silver gear.
- Tap Developer Options in the settings menu.
- Tap the slider button at the top right of the screen to Off.
- Restart your phone.
iOS
- Open your iPhone's settings by clicking on the silver gear icon.
- Locate the "Privacy & Security" section and tap on it.
- Find Developer Mode at the bottom of the screen and toggle the switch off.
- Restart your iPhone.
Additional Android Troubleshooting
Suppose you are on an Android device and have already checked that the above options do not apply. In that case, you can try to delete the Vision Camera app data, uninstall it, and reinstall it. If you've provided any answers in your inspection, uninstalling the app will remove all answers you've provided thus far but could resolve your Camera Disabled error. The steps for this are:
- While the app is installed, go to the Settings app, then Apps / Applications.
- Find the Vision Camera in this list, and tap on it.
- Click on Storage & Cache.
- Click on Clear storage.
- Uninstall the Vision Camera app.
- Restart your device.
- Tap the smartlink you received to reinstall the Vision Camera app.
Please submit a support ticket if you still have issues enabling the Vision Camera app. Please provide us with the details of your device and the current version of your operating system. You may also share a screenshot of the error message.
